LE CONTEXTE DU POSTE
Our Client is a European leading beauty group whose strategic skincare brand is ranked within the top 5 in their own specific product category in Asia including China.
In China, they have experienced a double digit growth consecutively for the last 5 years and have seen their annual sales turn over, distribution and brand awareness explode. They are forecasting a similar trend for 2016.
Today, they are looking for a high profile caliber candidate for the role of General Manager following the scheduled relocation by end of 2016 of the current China Business Head within the group who have been managing China for several years.
LA MISSION
Reporting directly to the International Director (based at HQ), you are leading a sizeable and growing team (between 100-200 staff covering both office based and field based teams) and including a 360 degree functional management (Commercial, Marketing, Training, Finance, HR, Logistics, IT…). You are ultimately responsible for:
1) Sales and brand management:
• You develop the sales and marketing and trade marketing strategy with the HQ senior Management and ensure effective implementation across all channels.
• You ensure the sustainable and qualitative development of an already well- established and fairly well balanced multi distribution channels across China including off line with international, regional and local specialised cosmetics retail chains, department stores (more than 3000 POS) and online ( company website , e-commerce platforms…).
• You strengthen the brand equity (brand awareness, market shares by channels, brand compliance with HQ guidelines).
• You optimize the retail performance per POS through front staff training, Visual merchandising, category management, trade marketing tools.
•You increase the customer loyalty and conversation rate (on and off line)
•You implement successful action plan for registering new SKUs and opening new market segments
2) Staff Management and development:
• You coach, empower, develop, motivate and retain middle and senior management to develop the team and business in a sustainable way.
• You are the guarantor and ambassador of the humanistic values of the company across every level of your china organisation
• You act as an effective interface between the China entity and all key functional key representatives at HQ (Marketing, R&D, Commercial, Digital end E-commerce…) to enable open communication channels, information exchange and people interactions

LES QUALITES REQUISES
• You have a minimum of 15 years of total experience including a minimum of 5 years at senior functional management or general management level and developed a solid expertise in the beauty sector (mass or masstige or prestige , with ideally a focus on skin care but not must)
• You have proven record leading a business unit with a sizeable team for international companies
• You have ideally a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience managing China sales and Marketing functions or business entity and enjoy working and dealing with the complexity and fast changing pace of this market.
• You combine natural empathy, mindfulness, team player attitude, genuine interest and passion for managing and developing people and enjoy bringing them to their next level.
• You have solid business acumen both in commercial and brand management.
• You have strong communication, organizational skills, abilities to manage multiple parties (internal and external) and practice in building trust communication links with a European HQ by having been based in Europe during a period of your career.
• You are fluent in English. Mandarin is a plus but not a must.
